Hi Reader Many of the moms I work with face the daily battle of trying to feed their kids healthy foods only to face resistance, stubbornness, and picky eating habits. It feels like a constant struggle of wits, leaving moms frustrated and worried about their children's nutrition and overall well-being. Can you relate? But I have some exciting news! I am working on a new guide designed to help moms like you explain to your kids, in a super kid-friendly and interactive way, about the special friendship between the gut and the brain. This guide will equip you with the language to introduce your kids to the amazing world of the microbiome, which we will call "Power Pals." Introducing Power Pals: Your Kid's Secret Superheroes Power Pals are the tiny helpers in the gut that play a crucial role in making the brain work well. When we nourish our Power Pals, they help us feel happier, more social, and ready to shine like superstars. One essential way to strengthen these Power Pals is by teaching our kids how to chill and breathe. Teaching Kids to Be Mindful: Box Breathing Explained Mindfulness and breathwork are powerful tools that can make a significant difference in your child's life. Here’s a simple way to explain box breathing to your child: Breathe In: Slowly breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds. Imagine drawing the first side of a square in your mind. Hold Your Breath: Hold your breath for 4 seconds. Picture drawing the second side of the square. Breathe Out: Slowly breathe out through your mouth for 4 seconds. Imagine drawing the third side of the square. Hold Your Breath Again: Hold your breath for another 4 seconds. Complete the square by drawing the fourth side in your mind. Repeat this a few times to feel calm and relaxed, helping your Power Pals stay happy! Recommended Apps for Mindfulness and Breathing To make mindfulness and breathwork fun and engaging for your kids, you can use kid-friendly apps like Headspace for Kids and Calm Kids. These apps offer guided exercises that make chilling out and breathing easy and enjoyable. Picky Eating Hack Breathwork is just as important as good nutrition for creating strong Power Pals. Here’s a great hack: For those picky eaters where nutrition feels like a tough first step, starting with a daily practice of box breathing or using a mindfulness app can make a significant impact. This simple habit can shift the microbiome in favor of the good bugs, outnumbering the bad ones. As the microbiome improves, picky eating can diminish because the bad guys won’t be demanding processed food as much anymore. Isn’t that fascinating? Take the First Step Today I encourage you to take this one powerful step today to create strong Power Pals for your kids. Incorporating breathwork into their daily routine can make a huge difference in their temperament, behavior, and happiness. Stay tuned for more updates on the guide, and let's work together to nurture healthy, happy kids one small step at a time. Ahuva P.S. Hi Reader In this series of "Small Steps, Big Changes," I want to focus on an important shift that can positively impact your child's well-being - removing dairy from their diet. The kit is sent directly to your home to be done at your convenience. When the results came in we clearly saw that he has a very high sensitivity to...
