Hi Reader Parenting a child with ADHD symptoms can feel beyond overwhelming! Managing impulsivity, hyperactivity, the academic and social difficulties, it's all so challenging!!! As moms, we are always searching for answers, wondering how we can best help our children( and ourselves) thrive despite the obstacles they face. But here's the truth: every child wants to do well and feel well — if they could. As parents, our role is to uncover the triggers behind our child's symptoms and behaviors and make the necessary adjustments to help them function. Imagine the joy and relief your child will experience when he is functioning at his best, when he only gets positive and loving feedback when he makes his teachers proud. It's absolutely possible and completely worth striving for. Together, we can make it a reality. So, where do we begin? It starts with small steps — simple changes that can lead to significant improvements over time. Today, I want to introduce you to a concept called the Rule of 5. The Rule of 5 is straightforward: when you're shopping for food, aim for products with no more than five ingredients listed on the label. And here's the kicker — those ingredients should be ones you recognize as real food. Why is this important? Because the foods we eat directly impact our physical and mental health. For children with ADHD, avoiding inflammatory foods can make a world of difference in managing their symptoms. By focusing on real, whole foods, you can help reduce inflammation in your child’s body and see real changes in his behavior! But the benefits don't stop there. Teaching our kids to be educated consumers empowers them to make choices that align with their health goals. So, next time you're at the grocery store with your child, take the opportunity to explore different options together. Encourage them to read labels, ask questions, and choose foods that make them feel good and energized. Remember, change doesn't happen overnight. It's about taking small, consistent steps in the right direction. And as we journey together, you will see those small steps lead to big changes in your child's life. Ahuva P.S. Hi Reader In this series of "Small Steps, Big Changes," I want to focus on an important shift that can positively impact your child's well-being - removing dairy from their diet. My grandson has been congested continuously. I suggested he go off dairy, but my daughter wasn’t convinced. We did a food sensitivity test, an easy test I offer parents. The kit is sent directly to your home to be done at your convenience. When the results came in we clearly saw that he has a very high sensitivity to...
